Many hours went into the planning and the same amount of hours went into the execution. The sound, video, stream, stage, and Executive Student Council assistance was so appreciative. Our students were so appreciative and grateful. On the same note, our families loved everything about the plan. It took many hands to make this event so flawless. Opening Video of the CeremonyVideo created by Kelly Misch Schedule for Exam Week: June 7-June 10 Read this schedule online We have been meeting with teachers in post conferences along with having discussions with department chairs pertaining to final exams. We appreciate the creativity, and flexibility each department has determined for the exam process. Enclosed are the expectations for exams this June. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EACH STUDENT DISCUSSES THEIR FINAL COURSE EXPECTATIONS WITH THEIR TEACHERS AND PARENTS REGARDING THEIR QUARTER GRADES AND EXAM SCHEDULE. For the 2020-2021 year, teachers in each PLC must agree/collaborate upon what could/should be the final exam.

Art Piece of the WeekImages of the WeekStudents Applying for CCP at LakelandA message from Lakeland: First you will need to complete the online application, which can be found on Lakeland’s homepage (www.lakelandcc.edu/apply) and you will need to select CCP as your Student Type and 9000 or 9100 for your Degree/Certificate code. Then we will need a current copy of your high school transcripts, I do not need anything official so you can scan a copy in an email to me. Finally you will need to submit ACT/SAT scores placing you into the correct level of English for acceptance into the program. The English portion of the ACT needs to be a 18 or higher or we are looking for a 480 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading/Writing portion of the SAT. If you have not yet taken an ACT/SAT then you will need to take our placement test. If you need to test then you will want to go to the CCP homepage at www.lakelandcc.edu/web/about/schedule-test-ccp and “Reserve” a day/time to test. You will not be able to schedule a day/time to test until after your application is manually entered into the system, this usually takes 2 to 3 business days from when you submit your online application. So while waiting for your application to be entered into the system all CCP applicants should review Lakeland’s Placement Test Preparation Website and practice, practice, practice. We find that students who use these test prep resources score higher on the ACCUPLACER exam. · If you are going to be a 2022 or 2023 high school graduate and you have a cumulative (unweighted) GPA of a 3.5 or higher you will not need to submit an ACT/SAT or take the placement test, we can use a copy of your high school transcript for acceptance into the CCP program without any placement testing required. Complete the Intent form with the high school and submit that by May 1 so you are eligible to receive funding for the 2021-22 academic year. This is not a binding contract and you can decide to not participate however this is the only way for you to receive funding. The Intent form is the only thing that is due by May 1. After you are accepted into the CCP program you will receive information on how to complete an online New Student Orientation and as soon as that is completed you will be contacted to set up a virtual appointment to meet with an academic counselor who will help you to select your classes. Please email your CHS counselor after the app is submitted to request transcripts and to reach out to your counselor with any questions. ![]() This is the last regular edition of the Week in Reflection. After a very long three weeks of events, I need to close this reflection with my heartfelt gratitude for your support this year. This job has no set hours. I am grateful for those that read the week from my perspective and I will continue to find ways to communicate all of the great things that we accomplish each day at CHS. If you choose to print the entire year, you will notice over 650 pages of passion, love, and commitment to the students and staff at Chardon High School. Once the exams are over---Enjoy the summer. Enjoy the simple things in life. Laugh a little, Live in the moment, and Be YOU. Stay tuned for details coming from my office this Summer. Leadership doesn't take a day off. Blessings to you and yours. Douglas Murray, Principal |
