2/15/2016 A Community that CaresUPDATE: A COMMUNITY THAT CARES
From February 16th - 24th Chardon High School focused on the core value of “COMMUNITY” by spearheading the collection of personal care products to help the homeless in Geauga County. In one short week, the students, staff, and community members of Chardon were able to collect nearly 2,100 personal care items for the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority through the United Way of Geauga County. We are grateful for our partnership with the United Way who has responded in so many ways to the needs of our students. To learn about ways that you can support United Way, visit there website. We are so THANKFUL to our student leadership who organized this important outreach program, and look forward to ways that we can support programs in our community. Parents & Students,
As we approach 2016-2017 course registration, we want to make sure that you are aware of upcoming dates and timelines throughout this process. School Counselors will hold grade level, scheduling presentations on Tuesday, Feb. 9th at the high school throughout the day. We will discuss course selection, the scheduling process, timelines, and expectations of the students at this time. Students will be given a copy of the courses being offered during the 2016-2017 school year, as well as a scheduling guide to assist in this process. The following day, Wednesday, Feb 10th, students will complete course recommendation worksheets with their teachers throughout the day. These will be given out during 1st period on that day. This will allow teachers to make course recommendations for each student to use when selecting courses through Infinite Campus. Similar to last year, the Infinite Campus registration portal will open on Friday, February 12th and will close on Monday, February 22nd. Students will need to log into the portal during this window to select courses for the 16-17 school year. Once the window has closed, counselors will begin to meet with each student individually to go over their course recommendations and requests. Students will not be able to override a teacher recommendation in the Infinite Campus portal. If you disagree with a course that was recommended from the teacher, students and parents will have the option to complete a course override form through Guidance. If you have any questions regarding the scheduling process, timeline, or course selections, please contact your child’s counselor at (440) 285-4060 or by email. 2/9: Schedule Presentations 2/10: Course Recommendation Day 2/12: Infinite Campus registration portal opens 2/21: Infinite Campus registration portal closes 2/22-3/11: Individual scheduling conferences with Counselors Sincerely, CHS Guidance |
