Chrome OS Update

Chrome OS version 38 is now available. This is a critical update for the district's Chromebook devices and is anticipated to correct an issue with inconsistent tracking of the mouse/trackpad. 

Open the browser on a Chromebook.
In the Address bar type: chrome://help
This will auto-launch the update if not already installed.
Restart to apply.

Normally updates are spread over a period of several days. Because of the critical nature of this update, the sooner the update is applied the better.

It is important to regularly shutdown Chromebook devices so that important updates can be downloaded and applied. Just closing the lid on a Chromebook does not shutdown a device, rather the device enters a suspended stated. Using the power button on the right side of the device or select the Shutdown option in the lower left of the screen after Sign Out.
