11/4/2022 The Week in Reflection: November 4, 2022Opening Message: Strength in Numbers
There is strength in numbers. There is strength when we focus on a task or goal as a unified front. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes trust and shared goals to move anything from good to great. We have seen and experienced the strength of our community, school, students, and staff when we come together to celebrate and embrace our culture and values. On the field, stage, or classroom- we support and encourage our students to use their talents and skills to compete and perform.
Chardon is our home. Chardon is our community. We are proud of where we are from and will always demonstrate our strength, and commitment to leave our school and community better than when we found it. We have experienced such a great start to the school year as noted by the countless words expressed in the Week in Reflection this year. We have experienced the greatest fall athletic season as whole this year! Our cross country runners have followed the treasured traditions of Chardon runners and surpassed personal and coach goals for the year! The boys XC is heading to the state meet this weekend! Our volleyball team experienced a storybook season part II! Our Tennis, Golf, and Soccer programs all had winning seasons moving through the post season. Tonight, our football team continues their historic run in week 2 of the playoffs. With all of these victories, our students maintained a 3.23 GPA, and were involved in countless service opportunities. With all of these victories, we have taken a lot of time to work through routines, traditions, and expectations with our students. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, our continued focus on leading students to be prepared for any barrier they may face takes all of us: Families, Friends, and Faculty. Let's all take time this weekend to remind our children how much we love them, support them, and care for their well-being. In the same tone, I will be first to say how much I care for the countless sacrifices that our teachers and staff members provide for our students. Our strength comes from the smile, respect, and positivity that we experience with moving our students throughout their high school experience. Together, we remain strong. Let's climb this mountain together as Hilltoppers! The Schedule for Next Week (Regular Schedule)
Fall Play: Puffs![]()
You might be familiar with the story of a certain boy wizard who went off to wizarding school and ultimately saved the entire wizarding world. Well, this isn't a story about him. Instead, it is about the Puffs who are a house of very loyal and very extraordinarily ordinary wizards.
Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic is a Potter-inspired comedy exploring the world of these oftentimes forgotten supporting characters. We get to meet three new heroes, their fellow Puffs, some familiar faces, and some new ones. We follow their epic journey to both familiar and unfamiliar places, and discover something about ourselves along the way. Ultimately, we all have a little bit of Puff in us, whether it is our awkwardness, our forgetfulness, our desire to work hard, our love of our friends and family, or the fact that we have a minor obsession with badgers. Please come join us for a journey through the wizarding world of the Puffs. We promise you'll laugh, cry, and find some truly awesome, badger-loving friends along the way! Reflect on that. No words can even describe that number in Division 1 volleyball in Northeast Ohio. The Western Reserve Conference is tough enough on paper. To make it to the Regional Semi-finals at this level is unbelievable to process. However, for this family, it is where they expect to be. Although our girls fought, and were relentless in every set---the final point didn't fall for the Hilltoppers. As a principal, I could not demonstrate enough gratitude for the sacrifices of our coaches, and every single athlete starting with the pre-season workouts, canoe trips, two-a-days, college camps, hours of practice, scrimmages, and games. From the motivation prior to the season to build their family---to the haunted houses, and pumpkin carving...our girls are special. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
