3/28/2022 The Week in Reflection: 4/1
Welcome Back!
I see skies of blue, snow of white, flowers bloom, rain in the dark of night...and I think to myself, why do I live in Ohio. I am no song writer, but many of us start to lose our patience this time of year. The weather seems quite broken lately. With the transition into our third winter called Spring, we have so much going on. We are literally going to fly through these last weeks so hold on. As I have shared over the last several weeks of communications, the upcoming long term schedule demonstrates the volume of tasks and events going on at CHS. As we march through the transition to this new season, we are longing for a stretch of dry and sunny days. With or without the unknown weather, this year has taught us the importance of patience and perseverance. Being patient creates opportunities for growth inside of us which will help us nurture our response to difficult moments. The next two months are going to pass us by in a blink of an eye. It is so important to pause and reflect on each opportunity in front of us. Likewise, demonstrating patience will expand our ability to persevere through moments in our lives that impact us at school, sports, our jobs, and even relationships. Spring Break Trips
The Baseball and Softball teams were overjoyed to begin their season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over the break. Both teams represented Chardon very well on and off the field! The fields were absolutely beautiful and the competition was strong. The relationships and memories built on the field, spending time with teammates, and bonding was extraordinary. The teams would like to thank all of the coaches who sacrificed their time, the families, countless hands, and our board of education for allowing this trip to occur. The teams are looking forward to seeing you in person this season!

The Hilltopper Marching Band had the honor of performing in Walt Disney World over Spring Break. To audition for this honor, the band had to submit three recent performance videos as well as photos of the group. The Hilltoppers did an outstanding job marching in the Magic Kingdom on Monday, March 21 at the 6:00 PM parade. The parade was 1 mile long and approximately 1,000 people from all over the world were in attendance. Other highlights of the trip included a stop at Buc-ees, morning swimming at the hotel, and time spent in each of the Disney parks. Thanks to the BOE and CHS administration for approving this trip! A huge thank you also to our wonderful chaperones: Lorrie Beil, Gloria Kortitansky, Michelle Watson, Todd Watson, Jennifer Squires, Barb Breznay, Christine Clark, Cindy Nells, and Bill Nells.
