11/5/2021 The Week in Reflection 11/5Strength in Numbers
There is strength in numbers. There is strength when we focus on a task or goal as a unified front. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes trust and shared goals to move anything from good to great. We have seen and experienced the strength of our community, school, students, and staff when we come together to celebrate and embrace our culture and values. On the field, stage, or classroom- we support and encourage our students to use their talents and skills to compete and perform.
Chardon is home. Chardon is our community. We are proud of where we are from and will always demonstrate our strength, and commitment to leave our school and community better than when we found it. We have experienced such a great start to the school year as noted by the countless words expressed in the Week in Reflection this year. We have experienced the greatest fall athletic season as whole this year! Our cross country runners have followed the treasured traditions of Chardon runners and surpassed personal and coach goals for the year! Luke Danison is heading to the state meet this weekend! Our volleyball team experienced their greatest season in the history of Chardon volleyball. Our Tennis, Golf, and Soccer programs all had winning seasons moving through the post season. Tonight, our football team continues their historic run in week 2 of the playoffs. With all of these victories, our students maintained a 3.16 GPA, and were involved in countless service opportunities. With all of these victories, we have taken a lot of time to work through routines, traditions, and expectations with our students. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, our continued focus on leading students to be prepared for any barrier they may face takes all of us: Families, Friends, and Faculty. Let's all take time this weekend to remind our children how much we love them, support them, and care for their well-being. In the same tone, I will be first to say how much I care for the countless sacrifices that our teachers and staff members provide for our students. Our strength comes from the smile, respect, and positivity that we experience with moving our students throughout their high school experience. Together, we remain strong. Let's climb this mountain together as Hilltoppers! Schedule for Next Week: November 8-12

MCORE Heart Screening at CHS 2/1/22
We wanted to make you aware of a valuable opportunity being provided to our community. The MCORE Foundation will be providing education and a preventative cardiac screening program for our students.
The goal is to educate parents and students on sudden cardiac arrest, family history, signs, and symptoms along with a screening to find underlying heart abnormalities. Every year in our country over 400,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest and 13,000 of them are healthy children. This program will provide each participant a baseline cardiac evaluation for $79 that can be used with your medical provider. The first screening day will be Tuesday, February 1, 2021 from 8:00PM- 4:00PM, at Chardon High School. Please click on the following link to reserve your child’s spot today. https://mcorefoundation.org/scheduler_schedule/?school=162 If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the MCORE Foundation at info@mcorefoundation.org Girl Scout Gold Award: Makenna Ricketts![]()
My name is Makenna Ricketts and I am a sophomore here at CHS. I am currently working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, which is equivalent to the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouts. I have played lacrosse for more than six years, so I wanted to choose a lacrosse-related topic that I could make into a sustainable project within my community. My Gold Award is an adaptive lacrosse initiative, open to 10-21 year olds with various special needs. As of right now, I am trying to collect equipment donations. I have picked two dates for a donation drive - Wednesday, Nov. 10: 6-8 PM and Wednesday, Nov. 17: 6-8 PM, here at CHS. If you have any retired, and in good condition, lacrosse equipment, please consider donating and putting them to use for a good cause. If you are unable to donate, please share with anyone and everyone you know who may have lacrosse equipment in storage. The equipment can range from boys/girls/goalie sticks, helmets, goggles, elbow pads, shoulder pads to lacrosse balls. Anything helps!
